Cubbon Park, officially known as Sri. Chamarajendra Park It is a historical park, located in the heart of the city in the Central Administrative Area. The park has the surrounding area for the State Legislature - Vidhana Soudha, High Court Buildings - Attara Kacheri, and a number of other organizations near and within the park that form the Central Administrative Area.


Cubbon Park has a history of over 100 years. It was founded in 1870 by Sri John Meade, then acting Commissioner of Mysore. Much of the park was named after Major General Richard Sankey, the then Chief Engineer of the State. As a mark of respect for Sri John Meade, the park was originally named “Meade’s Park” and later renamed Cubbon Park. Since the park's inception, it has been upgraded and improved with the addition of new buildings and features. In 1927, the park was officially renamed “Sri. Chamarajendra Park ”to commemorate the Sri Lankan Silver Jubilee. The reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar in Mysore State.


Cubbon Park is under the Department of Agriculture. The Deputy Director of Agriculture of Cubbon Park is responsible for the management and maintenance of the park.




At Cubbon Park, some are sitting and observing nature. On other hand, some are doing their office work surrounding themselves in nature.

What can be the most exciting to school children is when their school teachers take them out to a park. School children are sitting and chilling out with their friends and their child

memorable moment ever.
